Seit der 1. Klasse arbeiten wir mit einer amerikanischen Schule aus Fort Worth/ Texas an einem Projekt, das zur Förderung von Weltoffenheit beitragen soll.
Die erste Phase des Projekts galt dem Kennenlernen unserer Partner. Aufgrund der Zeitverschiebung fand dieses Kennenlernen in schriftlicher Form statt. Die Phase zwei widmete sich Sehenswürdigkeiten, Persönlichkeiten, kulinarischen Gerichten, … des Partnerlandes. Mittels Internetrecherche wurden Informationen dazu erhoben und zusammengefasst.
Im Vorjahr schloss sich eine norwegische Schule unserem Projekt an. Das Kennenlernen fand online statt, auch einige Kinder der jetzigen 3a waren mit dabei. In kleine Gruppen eingeteilt, hatten wir bis jetzt zwei Mal die Gelegenheit uns auszutauschen. Das nächste Treffen wird im Jänner stattfinden. In diesem Semester wurden kurze Videos über Sehenswürdigkeiten in Wien gemacht und die Adventstimmung in der Stadt „eingefangen“. Unsere Nachbarklasse 4c war für das Filmen des Christkindlmarktes zuständig.
Im 2. Semester dieses Schuljahres werden Norwegen, Amerika und wir gemeinsam an den SDGs arbeiten. Wir freuen uns darauf.

Lyndon B. Johnson was the 36th President of the United States of America from 1963 to 1969.
Before that he was the Vice President under John F. Kennedy.
The same day Kennedy was murdered, Johnson became the President.
His reforms brought far-reaching improvements for the American people.
Under Johnson some important things were changed especially for the black people in the United States. Because of the Civil Right Act (1964), the Voting Right Act (1968) and the Civil Right Act (1968) the Afro-Americans got the same rights like white people.
Johnson also strengthened the United States' space program, which culminated in the moon landing in 1969.
I didn´t know that before, but it was quite interesting to collect some information about that president.

Big-Bend-National Park
The Big-Bend-National Park is located in the south of Texas, USA, on the border to Mexico.
The park has more than 3200 square kilometers and is one of the largest in the USA.
The Rio Grande is the largest river. It was founded in 1944.
Climate:
In spring and summer, it is often very hot.
In winter it is very mild, but it can also be frosty. The rainy season is from July to September.
Big-Bend-National Park is one of the wettest deserts in North America.
Plants:
There are large forests of oaks, pines and junipers, bushes, yuccas and cacti.
There are over 1200 species of plants.
Animals:
There are many different animals in this park:
- Peccaries
- Deer
- Donkey bunnies
- Racing cuckoos
- Black bears
- Cougars
- Coyotes
- foxes
- Lynxes
- Vulture
There are 3600 species of insects, 40 species of fish, 450 species of birds, 75 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles and 11 species of amphibians. The Big-Bend-National Park is the most biodiverse park in the USA.
History:
Different groups of Indians lived in Big-Bend-National Park. Skeletons of the largest known pterosaurs have been discovered.
I was impressed when reading about that park. I love the nature, so it would be great going there one day. It must be amazing.
